How the Chicken Breast Nutrition Calculator Works

The calculator starts with the weight of the chicken you measured. It scales the baseline 100-gram nutrient profile mathematically:

Multiplier = Serving Weight (grams) / 100
Calculated Nutrient = Source Nutrient × Multiplier

We do not recalculate calories artificially using generic 4-4-9 macro estimates when the source record provides analytical energy. This maintains exact consistency with USDA FoodData Central and FDA nutrition standards.

Why Do Different Chicken Calculators Give Different Numbers?

Most online discrepancies happen because websites mix raw and cooked states without disclosure. A 200-gram raw chicken breast has ~240 calories and ~45g protein, while a 200-gram cooked chicken breast has ~330 calories and ~62g protein because water loss concentrated the cooked muscle fibers.

What If My Portion Includes Bone or Skin?

If you weighed a whole bone-in breast (e.g. 320g) and left 80g of bone and cartilage on the plate, your actual consumed portion was 240 grams of edible meat (320g - 80g = 240g). Never apply meat-only macro multipliers to bone weight.

Cooking Spray, Added Oil, and Recipe Tracking

It depends on whether the 4 oz was raw (~136 kcal) or cooked (~187 kcal) and how the chicken was prepared. Use the calculator rather than one universal 4-ounce value.

How much protein is in 6 oz of chicken breast?

Raw and cooked 6-ounce portions differ: 6 oz raw yields ~38.3g protein, while 6 oz cooked provides ~52.7g protein. Select the correct food state to scale the matching reference.

Can I calculate 200g of chicken breast?

Does the calculator include oil?
